South Florida’s Hotspot for Cuban-American Food

Colada is a family-owned and operated South Florida Cuban coffee house and casual eatery known for its timeless Cuban culinary heritage. Acclaimed for delicious iced café con leche, authentic Cuban sandwiches, fresh pastries, ropa vieja and other savory Cuban specialties, our Flagler Village hotspot has been serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to Fort Lauderdale since 2015.

A pioneer restaurant in the heart of Flagler Village and its creative FAT Village district, Colada is the perfect place to start your day with real Cuban coffees that are second-to-none, baked-daily pastries and croquettas, or a full, traditional Cuban breakfast. Stop by for lunch, meet friends for dinner or have Colada cater your next party or meeting. There’s always something fun going on at Colada! Keep in touch and plan to join us when we partner with neighboring breweries and for other special events that make Flagler Village an exciting place to be!

Respect for Our Past and Excitement About Our Future

Like many South Floridians, Alex Recio grew up a second-generation Cuban-American. In 2015, he tapped into his strong Cuban roots to open Colada, in Fort Lauderdale. He chose the thriving Flagler Village area to open the new concept.

With deep respect for his heritage, Alex knows no one can cook better Cuban food than an abuela, but he is happy to be a close second. Colada’s mothership store, the Miramar Bakery, has been a South Florida favorite for more than 35 years, serving pastries, baked fresh daily, to customers around the region who value freshness and authenticity above all else. At Colada, Alex and his team focus on becoming everyone’s favorite neighborhood restaurant by delivering quality food and friendly service every time you visit.

Next up for Colada?

Alex and his partners plan to expand the brand to additional Florida locations, starting in Pembroke Pines.
